How does clinical microneedling work?
Clinical Microneedling is a state of the art treatment option for skin rejuvenation, wrinkle reduction and scar revision. Small needles are used to create microscopic channels in the skin. These microscopic channels allow for the breakdown of the skin's current structure, creating an optimal condition for the penetration of healing and rejuvenating substances, and for stimulation of collagen production.
What are the advantages of clinical microneedling?
Clinical microneedling offers following advantages compared to other treatment methods:
- Shorter downtime compared to alternative methods of treatment
- Suitable for all skin types, including darker skin tones
- long lasting effects
- a minimum investment with maximum results
What to consider?
- After the treatment the skin will become red. Depending on the skin type, occasional crusting may occur. But make-up can be applied within hours to cover the treated area.
- Exposure to the sun must be avoided until the healing process is completed. It is recommended that sunscreen with high SPF is used during this time.
- Only healthy and healed skin should be treated.
- To reach an optimal result, at least three clinical microneedling skin rejuvenation sessions are recommended.
MicroNeedling for Skin Rejuvanation
What happens when the skin begins to age?
As one gets older the skin starts to lose elasticity, which results in the formation of wrinkles, uneven skin tone and sagging skin. The effects of skin aging can
be divided into two categories:
The time factor
As we get older, our skin becomes weaker, drier, and thinner. Over time gravity can take a toll on your skin, resulting in:
- Decrease of cell density
- Decrease of collagen fibres
- Decrease of elastic fibres
- Decrease of skin hydration
The environmental factor
Our skin is also subject to the elements and can be affected by the following influences:
- Light
- Stress
- Skin disease
- Smoking
What results can be expected?
A skin rejuvenation facial treatment using clinical microneedling will result in:
- A reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles
- The elasticity of the skin will be improved
- The complexion of the skin will look more even-toned and pores will look minimized
- A reduction in sun damage and other environmental factors that can plague the skin
With a clinical microneedling skin rejuvenation treatment the skin will get a more even, brighter, younger and healthier appearance.
MicroNeedling for Scar Revision
Why are scars formed?
Not every injury leads to the formation of a scar. A scar is formed when the injury reaches the deeper layer of the skin structure. The body’s natural response is to produce more collagen fibers to mend the damage, which results in a scar. Most wounds will result in some degree of scarring. Only very minor cuts and superficial abrasions will not cause the body to produce a scar.
What are the advantages of clinical microneedling?
Clinical microneedling offers following advantages compared to other treatment methods:
- the procedure can be used to treat both old and new scars
- scars on every region of the body are treatable
- suitable for all types of skin tone, including dark skin
- daily use of specific lotions are not necessary for the healing process to occur
- minimal downtime after the treatment is performed
What results can be expected?
A scar treatment using clinical microneedling will result in:
- Scars will become flatter, softer and more even-toned
- Red and dark colored scars will fade
- Tension and pain will be reduced
Which scar types can be treated?
- Raised / hypertrophic scars (e.g. surgical scars)
- Depressed / atrophic scars (e.g. acne scars)
- Stretch marks / striae
